what is a reach-in wardrobe?
built-in wardrobe storage, without the custom joinery price
A reach-in wardrobe is one you reach into rather than walk into, accessed from one side and concealed by sliding, hinged or bi-fold doors.
Our built-in wardrobe NZ kitsets are designed to fit floor-based cavities with a minimum depth of 550mm, constructed from 18mm quality melamine and available in white or oak. Each kit arrives pre-drilled with all fixings, hanging rails and shelving included. Prices start from $393, which puts a properly fitted, good-looking wardrobe well within reach without going anywhere near custom joinery costs.

- small reach-in wardrobes (two bays) — for tighter cavities where a clean, functional fit is the priority
- medium reach-in wardrobes (three bays) — the most common configuration for standard NZ bedrooms
- large reach-in wardrobes (three bays) — wider cavities with more hanging and shelving capacity
- extra large reach-in wardrobes (four bays-plus) — for larger spaces needing a full-width wardrobe fit-out
All configurations are available in white or oak and can be adjusted with towers, double hanging rails and shelf combinations to suit your storage needs.
what to know before you order
getting your measurements right
Before choosing a configuration, you’ll need three measurements from inside your wardrobe cavity: width from left wall to right wall, height from floor to ceiling, and depth from front to back. A minimum cavity depth of 550mm is required to hang clothes properly. Our measuring guide walks you through each step, and our 3D planner lets you map your dimensions against available configurations before placing an order.
